Seven years ago, our family moved across the country from suburban California to the country in North Carolina in search of a lifestyle change. I started this blog to share my passion for family, farm animals, home decorating, crafts, DIYs, recipes, gardening, and so much more. I’m happy you’ve joined me here!
Six years ago, my husband and I decided that it was time for a lifestyle change for our family. We wanted to slow down and enjoy more time together and with our children before they left home. Thankfully, we were at a place in life where we could make this happen. Five years ago, we moved from the suburbs of California to the country in North Carolina. Talk about a lifestyle change! I traded in my work suits, high heels, and briefcase for jeans, t-shirts, rubber boots, and a bucket. We went from a tract home with a backyard the size of a postage stamp to a farmhouse on almost six acres that was zoned for livestock. We left California with two dogs and within a year in North Carolina we had added a dozen chicken, a mini horse, and pig. Today, we have over 25 animals on the farm, two gardens, a riding arena, and a new coop that we built from scratch with our own hands. I have learned so much about myself living on the farm and I have found passions I never knew I had until we moved to the country. I’m excited to share it all with you here.
